Biodiesel Refinery - Chemical Package
Biodiesel refineries are typically located near soy extraction plants where soy is produced. Biodiesel refinery capacities are small when compared to conventional crude oil refining and typically range from 5 to 35 million gallons a year, A few biodiesel refineries have capacities that are larger than 30 million gallons a year.
In the U.S., there are over 20 biodiesel refineries with capacities less than 10 million gallons a year. These small co-operative farm refineries are often disadvantaged when purchasing chemicals and catalysts.
A typical biodiesel refinery needs:
- Sodium Methoxide solution (2 to 4%)
- Methanol (7 to 8%)
- HydroChloric Acid(2 to 3%)
The consumption of these chemicals vary with Soy and FFA content. Often, drum quantities of these chemicals and catalysts are purchased for the production of Biodiesel from various suppliers at premium prices.
Green Catalysts is offering a complete chemical package along with its eco-friendly and effective catalyst to reduce the cost and complexity of the procurement process. Small Biodiesel refineries can gain significant cost advantages with one-stop procurement of chemical needs and Green Catalysts will be able to offer competitive prices due to its strategic relationships and also save on shipping costs.
